Get ahead in your engineering degree in the seaside city of Sorrento

Head to beautiful Sorrento, Italy on the Mediterranean coast for a life-changing summer! This unique program combines traditional study (Physics 2 with lab and non-technical elective courses) with the option to pursue a practical work experience and micro-credential that will put your studies into practice and prepare you for the working world. You’ll live and learn at Sant’Anna Institute, a beautiful campus overlooking a quaint fishing village and marina. Take a short stroll into Sorrento to enjoy its cafe-lined streets and soak up la dolce vita.

Other courses on offer include Italian, international tourism, marketing, archaeology, and sustainability. The Sant’Anna Institute encourages students to become members of this special community on the Mediterranean during their time abroad. Learn More About This and Other Programs

While I was working during my internship, I was also completing a micro-credential, Working Across Cultures. Throughout the five weeks, we were tasked with answering a variety of reflection questions. Each week would build on what we learned from the week before. Having multiple reflection questions was helpful and important to my experience of interning abroad because, without these questions, I would not have thought of the different ways to approach certain situations or be able to handle them as well as I did.
