Learn More About This and Other Programs

This past month I spent my time studying abroad in Sorrento, Italy with CIS Abroad. The opportunity of being able to study in Italy was a dream come true! From my peers in the program to Frankie and Kayla, everyone has been so open and welcoming. CIS has done any amazing job making sure I felt prepared for my travels and was available to answer my many questions. Without CIS, this opportunity would have seemed like a dream, but they helped me turn it into a reality. I have met some amazing friends and grown into a better person during my time in Sorrento!

Studying in Sorrento gave me the opportunity to immerse myself in an entirely new culture. I was able to learn how to adapt to foreign situations and make the most of my time while trying new foods, experiences, and meeting new people.

While I was working during my internship, I was also completing a micro-credential, Working Across Cultures. Throughout the five weeks, we were tasked with answering a variety of reflection questions. Each week would build on what we learned from the week before. Having multiple reflection questions was helpful and important to my experience of interning abroad because, without these questions, I would not have thought of the different ways to approach certain situations or be able to handle them as well as I did.
