Catalysts Spark Change.
They accelerate progress, challenge the status quo, and help others unlock new potential.
At CEA CAPA and CIS Abroad we embrace this role fully—partnering with institutions to be the change agent that drives innovation and sustainable growth in international education. We see consulting as an investment in professionals that strengthens the entire community.
For nearly 20 years, CIS Abroad’s Consulting Services team has supported U.S. education abroad offices who feel overwhelmed, busy, or inefficient by introducing tools and resources to rejuvenate and re-energize. With the added support of CEA CAPA, we are committed to continuing to make an impact where it matters most—supporting the people and teams who drive education abroad forward.
We are thrilled to announce our NEW Catalyst Grants for 2025 - 2026 to focus on team building and strategic planning.
Catalyst Grant recipients will receive:

Success Stories
Working with CIS Abroad's Consulting Team has been an incredibly positive experience. Their professionalism and preparation are on point—they come to every session with well-thought-out, multi-modal materials and consistently demonstrate reliability and respect for our time. But what truly sets them apart is their calm and curious energy. Even in the most emotionally charged situations, they create a safe and constructive space that helps diffuse tension and encourages open communication.
An unexpected benefit of working with CIS Abroad was their authenticity and vulnerability. They model the kind of openness and trust that fosters real growth and connection. To other institutions considering working with CIS Abroad, I would say: don’t hesitate. Their approach will enhance your team’s skills and can help transform how you work together—but only if you’re willing to put in the work yourself. If you do, the partnership will leave a lasting impact.
The training got right to the essential tactics and strategies of how we can still produce quality work without the overwhelm or the feeling of burnout, focusing on actionable bite-size steps. Scott and Kris leveraged their expertise in education abroad and leadership to deliver insights into critical aspects such as identifying core customers, leveraging data for effective decision-making, and fine-tuning program portfolios. [This] has reignited our passion for offering transformative experiences to our students while ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in our operations.
